And the light dawns!
Several weeks ago I went to get in my car and found the contents of the space under my stereo and the space under the emergency brake handle strewn around the front seat. I didn't find anything missing and assumed a child or vagrant in desperate need of change had taken advantage of my unlocked car. I have started locking my car when it's at home now, but other than that I didn't think too much about it.

I only just realized... those are the two logical places to leave an MP3 player. Not having one, it just didn't occur to me before.

Current Mood: shockedshocked

Though, if people leave their mp3 players in the car, they're totally asking for them to get stolen. Mine almost never leaves my pocket or my purse, and I certainly never leave it in the car.

It's not like you'd be carting around a huge cd binder everywhere. The point is that they're easily portable!

We had someone

who got us in the habit of locking our car doors.

He was polite, he didn't break windows, he just looked around. Probably for: Money, drugs, keys or cigarettes. the only pisser is that he smoked when he went through your car. He didn't strew stuff around much. He may have taken good stereos, I've got a craptacular radio/cassette player that was factory installed, so I'm safe.

We know it's a he, he finally got arrested. Police estimated he'd gone through thousands of cars.

And IF I had a MP3 player it would so live in my purse or on my desk.
