When Neverwinter Nights first came out, I was busy doing other things. When the two expansions came out, I was still busy with other things. Just recently I picked up the Platinum edition, which contains all three. I started the basic version around noon on Saturday and have only managed to get through the Prelude (aka Lets Teach the Noob How to Play Our Game) and Chapter 1 so far. Which bodes well for how much time I will get out of this game (it's a rare RPG game I can play through more than once. The Elder Scrolls series managed it, but I can't think of too many others.) but I have a beef.

The writing of the story arc is just too predictable. They were a little too heavy handed letting us know that Desther isn't quite right. Now there could be some twist coming that I am not seeing, but I sure as heck saw what he was up to right off. I mean, when I first met him I had the option of asking him about his order's holy symbol and he fumbled his way through. I got the impression he was making it up (kudos to the writer for THAT, anyway). And that when I first met him. Pshaw! Whatever. I suppose there's some question about his companion's motives, but I doubt is. He's innocent.

Guess I will just have to play through and see, huh? Oh, the horror. Don't throw me in that briar patch, Brer Bear.
