I realized just now that this is the fourth time I have gotten very drunk and then couldn't sleep. At least the fourth time. But the other three times were at conventions, and I blamed it on that. Hmmmmm.
My understanding is that alcohol dehydrates the brain cells and thus disturbs the sleep cycle. I have faired better if I remember to drink 8 oz of water for every ounce of alcohol consumed. But then my bladder keeps me awake. At least the head does not hurt as much.
