Yep, that's why I never use 'em...commercial patterns for Ren garb. They're not historically accurate, often saying, 'Renaissance' on one side of the pattern and 'Medieval' on the other. HELLO...um, that's about two centuries apart!
Anyway, that's a soapbox of mine for during Costume class in academies...
Oh, I know they're not historically accurate and, since it was late notice for a Halloween wedding and I had one month to complete the damn thing, I wasn't real worried about historical accuracy to be honest. She just wanted a pretty. And it was pretty when it was done. Just a PITA to do. :)
The groom and his men were all vampires, the bride and her maids all renaissimulacrums.... The marriage over in less than a year. Made me feel REAL good about doing all that work for her. *sigh*
Ye gods! That reminds me of the Renaissance-Cavalier-Victorian wedding I did once.
I'll have to right a book someday about my years in the bridal industry...
