Feeling better today. Maybe this time it's gone for good. Anyway.

Since it's too dark to knit in the van anymore and there is no convenient way to set up a light on knitting, I am back to reading on the van (as the book lights DO work for books). I finished the Valdemar anthology (M. Lackey used the phrase 'a myriad of' and I nearly threw a temper tantrum. The woman really should know better. I KNOW the supposed editor didn't take more than a passing glance at the whole book, though, considering the other errors I saw. It's an ADJECTIVE, darn it. Even as a noun it means 'ten thousand' and you don't say 'a ten thousand of', now do you?)

*ahem* Sorry 'bout that.

Moving on now. Reading a Regency Romance. No idea why I like those so much, but I do. Reading the blurb on the back makes me think 'blah, blah, blah' complete with hand movement, but this author has impressed me in the past with her ability to make the formulaic refreshing, so I am ignoring my reaction to the blurb. I'm only on chapter three, so it's a little early for an opinion, but I am currently enjoying it.

Oh, yeah. And it's snowing. Wee.

Still snowing. Still accumulating ('cause, you know, it's been COLD recently).

Very likely the van will leave around 2 today, as Madalyn (the back up driver) is driving and she's none too sure of her ability to keep that big old tank going the proper direction on slick roads.

and a meme:

You know when you got a new bike & another kid would come up & say "Can I see your new bike?" Only they didn't mean "see" as in "look at." They meant "see" as in "ride it like crazy, bump it all over the place, & bring it back all scratched up & dirty."

Post this in your lj if there's someone YOU'D like to "see" naked. ;-)

The icon says it all.

"Dear Customer,

As someone who has purchased books by Joss Whedon, you might like to know that "Serenity: The Official Visual Companion" is now available in paperback. You can order your copy at a savings of 32% by following the link below."

But....but... I don't remember ordering anything by Joss Whedon from Amazon. Heck, I don't remember ordering anything by Joss Whedon anywhere I don't OWN anything by Joss Whedon......

I have made it home safe. Left work about 2:50 and arrived at the Checkers parking lot at 4:50. :O It usually only takes about 50 minutes.

I slid twice while trying to stop, but both times I had given myself enough room, thank goodness.

Almost didn't get up the hill on 9th street, though. Spun my wheels a whole lot. The other drivers around me were cautious and didn't try to pass me, which was good, if I had suddenly gotten traction.
