feeling dumb

(no subject)

I mentioned sleeping like the dead last week and being tired during the day anyway, right? Well, Friday night I had trouble getting to sleep, but felt fine (for the first time in a week) on Saturday. Saturday night I couldn't stay asleep, but was fine on Sunday. Last night.... well, lets just say I was desperately trying to continue playing Mystic Inn in my sleep most of the time. Not restful. Why I was also worried about the tax rate in Imperial Rome at the end of Julius Ceasar's reign, I have no idea.

I feel like hell warmed over today. Allergies are seriously kicking my tail. Perhaps I will now remember to make a Dr. appointment.....

I got 32 oz. of full-on Dr. Pepper this morning instead of my usually water. That's how bad I feel - need the caffeine. And sugar.

Oh, crud! My velvet garb is still in the trunk of my car! I don't even want to think about how crushed it likely is.... Any ticks that hitched a ride had better have given up the ghost by now!

Edit: BUT! My parents are home, safe and sound from their first ever REAL vacation in.....shoot, I don't know now long, but most, if not all, of my life. They went on an Alaskan Cruise. And Mom's letter stating they were home safe is so bubbly and nearly disjointed (very out of character) it's funny.

The first comment on this thread http://syndicated.livejournal.com/irregular_comic/300721.html (by the way, this is a feed to a really fun web comic) made me remember something.

My youngest brother was born in Australia, in an Australian hospital. Problems with 'nappies' or 'napkins' meaning 'diapers' rather than small-cloths-for-wiping-mouths-while-dining ('serviettes' in Australia, as I recall) aside, I was rather shocked when one of the 'sisters' (we call them nurses) in the neo-natal ward asked if she could give my newest brother 'a nurse'.

What the? She wants to breastfeed my brother?! No, she just wanted to hold him.

Ah, language.
