Radio (and now LJ) tells me there was an earthquake nearby this morning. People in Kansas City even felt it.
Even if it could have been felt in Lawrence, I doubt I would have noticed. I lived in southern California for 10 years and don't remember a single earthquake. Not one. I do remember coming down to breakfast on a number of occasions and my mother saying 'Did you feel that earthquake last night?" My answer was always 'no...'
That was the subject of an email I just got. Didn't bother to open it, of course.
Today was Dump Day here at work, where we were encouraged to do agressive cleaning. The top of my desk is now visible for the first time in.... um... a really long time. I should dust, too.
They fed us lunch today, even. And it was good, for a wonder. I was expecting something like Planet Sub, but we got Jack Stack. BBQ may not be my favorite, but I don't turn my nose up at it if it's free. Well, not completely up at it.
Did I mention I am making ANOTHER corset? It's using the pattern I used for the Oblivion corset (the Oblivion dress being on hold) but with a pretty print on the outside. I am not sure about the strength of the fabric I am using for a base. Oh, well. Live and learn.
When ordering the busk for the corset, I couldn't resist some Truely Victorian patterns for: blouses, walking skirt and petticout. And, I bought a meter (METER! in the US. What is this world coming to?) of some pink coutil with some rose pattern woven in. I am VERY curious if they really have the proper coutil weave along with the rose pattern.
