(no subject)

This is one of those WoW posts that likely isn't going to make much sense to any but WoW raiding freaks like me.

Blizzard likes to torment it's players by offering sets of gear, but making each piece (or token to be turned in for the piece) drop off a different boss. Then, they make the gear more powerful the more pieces you wear. At what we call the Tier 6 (T6) level, you get a set bonus with two pieces of the set, and another at 4. As yet, there is no Tier 7 - expect that with the expansion.

I had the gloves, hood and (ick, bleck, suck) legs drop into my lap unexpectedly all in one raiding week, but have had a horrible time trying to get the shoulders from Mother Shahraz. I either won't be in the raid the day she's killed or she doesn't drop the Priest/Paladin/Warlock token the day I am. One memorable time, several weeks ago, I thought for sure those shoulders were mine, because everyone else that wanted them already had them, but a warlock spoke up and he had more DKP than I. I really think I am cursed when it comes to those shoulders.

I totally had no hope of getting the robe token from Illidan - I thought for sure everyone would want that and we haven't killed him all that often.

Imagine my utter shock when I put in 'want' last night one else did!

So, I get my 4 piece WITHOUT the shoulders. The shoulders WILL be mine... eventually. And then I can quit using those crappy legs, but it is hysterically funny to me that I got the robe before the shoulders.

Total non-sequitur: 'But why does it hurt to walk up the stairs?"
