It's voting day. It also happens to be my birthday. I have a hope, one I am so unsure of, and so desperate to have be true, that I can't even completely put it into words (me? superstitious?). But I am hoping, hoping, hoping that something happens today that has never happened before: that the person I vote for actually ends up in office.
Killing time until the polls open.
I have voted.
I have gotten a flu shot.
The weather is insane, but in a really, really nice way.
So far, so good. (but my shoulder is a bit sore.)
I am going to try to write down the conversation snippets as they come to me, just as an exersize.
I am sure many stories have already been written for this one, but it's still what just came to me.
"Why are you angry with me? I thought you came to me for advice, not to be a yes-woman for decisions you already made."
I am still afraid to believe. But that, my dears? That is a WONDERFUL birthday present.
