I broke down and got Fallout 3. WoW will just have to wait a bit.

First thought - cripes, I'm not really terribly uptight about what my son plays or watches, but I think this might be on my short list of 'not for Thomas'. Things explode rather graphically.

And the NPCs' language is very natural (read 'wash your mouth out with soap'.

But I AM enjoying the stories.

So, about the time I am thinking 'Why aren't there any female Super Mutants?' and 'Maybe that's why they are all so irratable' I overhear one of them complaining about trying to think and it hurting and not remembering the past and something about maybe even having been a woman before the change. Had to laugh at that one.

Of course, every captive of the Super Mutants I have encounted has been female.... and black, actually. That is starting to bug me. Hope it was a fluke of the random generator.

Oh, and also re: Fallout 3. Those Feral Ghouls wig me right the heck out. Nothing else manages to startle me quite so often. Their 'big puppy, happy to see you' pant as they run is disconcerting enough, but somehow they managed to pop out from unexpected directions at unexpected times. I think it's because their pathing is so (deliberately?) stupid. They try for the straightest path, but obstacles will stymy them for long seconds before they try turning and trying a different route. ...If they try a different route - it seems that, if they slide along the obstacle, they don't bother finding a different (faster) path. Other times, they will jink for no gorram reason at all (besides mucking up a shot, of course)

And they're awful fast for rotting flesh.
