About two years ago I picked up Neverwinter Nights Platinum edition and Neverwinter Nights 2 (with two expansions), thinking I had somehow missed them when they came out.

Then I started playing NWN and found it really familiar. I quit playing after finishing chapter 1 and moved on to NWN2.

But then, in the Bioware forums I came across mention of a character in NWN that I didn't remember at all and got curious. Turns out, he's from one of the two expansion with NWN, which just happen to be part of the platinum edition.

Okay, fine, I can just go play that.

But it looked like I had to play through NWN main game to get there (I don't, as it turns out. Not sure how I missed that.) so I picked up where I left off.

After a very short amount of time, nothing seemed familiar, so I figured I never got all the way through chapter 2. Not hard to believe because that took FOREVER.

Now I am in chapter 3 and most things are unfamiliar... except this 'Creator Ruins' I just stepped in. This looks familiar. But I have no idea how I could have gotten here without getting through all the rest.

Oh well, I am very sure I never played the expansions, so that's good.

Slogging through two more chapters here in NWN might not be quite so good.

And people today complain that games are too short. Yes, compared to Planescape: Torment (which I know I never finished, for all I started at least twice) and this NWN, today's games are VERY short. But at least I don't get tired of them halfway through.
