(no subject)

Yesterday, affreca showed me how easy it is to dye fabric in a washing machine (assuming you have permission to do such things in the washing machine and it's not coin-op, of course). I now have five yards of linen (after ironing, I am no longer worried it's cotton, affreca) in work-shirt blue a.k.a denim blue. Well... except for the middle bit, which is more 'tie-dyed denim blue'. Unintended lesson learned: every time you restart the agitator, uncoil the fabric, too.

I plan to make a t-tunic style dress with it and have about 1.66 extra yards, so I think I can just cut out the middle bit and use the more evenly dyed parts. It means I will have a shoulder seam, but I can live with that.

While the fabric was in the process of dying, graydown and TheDave (tm) came over for pizza, 'The 13th Warrior' and general telling of stories. It was a good evening.
