Dragon Age 2 Malcolm's Bequest robe

*grumble, grumble* My sewing machine's tension is.... variable. Makes adding trim an 'adventure'.

But trying to paint the trim on was... well, I was surprised at how close to round my freehand circles were, but the whole thing still looks too messy for my taste.

On top of all those issues, I am not sure I actually like any of those for the project. :( Anyone have opinions?

"As seen on TV"

Last night I was flipping through channels when I should have been sleeping and found a quilting show that promised to show how to do 'perfect applique circles". I was intrigued, especially as I wasn't really sure how to do applique in the first place.

The show was a treasure trove of ideas, but the one I found most interesting and potentially useful was this: Before marking fabric, put it on some fine grit sandpaper. The sandpaper helps keep the fabric from slipping about and marking is both easier and more accurate.

I am here to tell you, it's the plain and simple truth. I might actually come to enjoy marking fabric, it's so much less frustrating. Well, not hate it quite so much, anyway.
