I am in a good mood.

I am in an extraordinarily good mood, considering the following.

I got to work at 7:30 and didn't leave until 5:15.

My car made funny noises at anything over about 15 MPH. I pulled into a parking lot (after driving about two/three blocks) to find my right rear tire was COMPLETELY flat.

My cell phone decided to go from full this morning to damn near empty by 5 pm.

But I am in a good mood.

D. was not only able to pick Thomas up this evening, but was happy for the excuse to get out of a dinner this evening. That was too good to be true!

Honda Roadside Assistance was very helpful, even when I had trouble telling them where I was.

The man who came to put the spare on told me it was just as well I had wimped out on this "Anything you can do, I can do, too" test, as my type of car is rather dangerous to jack up without a heavy duty jack. After getting the lug nuts off, he made the off-hand comment that I would never have gotten the wheel off myself, as he casually reached for a crowbar to pry the wheel off. He also told me that NTB was just up the street and still open. Oh, even when my luck is bad, it's still good.

The gentlemen at NTB were very helpful, personable, and very pleasant on the eyes. They found the damn big screw in the tire without any difficulty, patched it and replaced the tire.

My cel phone had enough juice for all the calls I needed to make.

I was home by 8.

All in all, I am in a very good mood.

This is so totally cliched. I finished Portal... because my son is one smart cookie and was watching and back-seat driving. One very smart little…
