I am such a freakin' klutz. - Melodramatic, corsetted mistress of the obscure
I am such a freakin' klutz.|
I managed to catch my heel on the second to last step to the curb while walking to my car. On the other hand, I am lucky - the fronts of my feet and legs are over-stretched (and getting up from kneeling is a killer), my shins are bruised and the heels of my hands are scraped up, but my fabric (which landed directly in the rain water in the gutter) is safe, thanks to the plastic bag it was in.
On a traffic related note - Lawrence people might want to avoid the intersection of Iowa and 19th. The lights are out and in the time between going to lunch and coming back, they seem to have given up fixing the lights and have put up four-way stop signs.

Oh, boooooo! Suxxor. Glad the fabric is ok. I know you know the sentiment: I'll heal. This silk won't wash. =)

Strangest thing - by 4 the heal caps were GONE. Both of them. I do wonder if that is related to my fall at 11 (although there was very little wear on the part that was left, so I don't think the heel caps had been gone for long.)
Oh, suck. Can you get them replaced? Those boots are so wonderful...

I hope so. But there aren't any places in Lawrence that do that repair, are there? (and now there is some wear on the heels themselves).

I have been thinking about you and sending little bursts of continued healing you way since Saturday...and it was delightful to have you here, btw. Hope to see more and more of you :)

Every day has been noticeably better. Going down stairs is still a strain, but I am not nearly as slow as I was on Saturday.
I very much appreciated the get together. You all are a wonderful group of people and I love the chance to get to know you all better.
Well, we certainly are wierd! And mostly harmless!!
Can you pop out for the aphrodisiac party on the 18th? That's the next shin-dig at my place :)

No, unfortunately. I will have Thomas that weekend. Kids: the anti-aphordisiac. ;p

And my legs are already so much better than I had any right to expect.
Yay for healing!
Kids are occasionally the result of aphrodisiacs ;-)
See I eventually read LJ - sorry you fell, glad you didn't break anything

Thanks. :) I don't think I fell as far as you did.
I only fell one step - There is a step down from my grandmas door to the porch (just like at my house) and I probally caught my heal on the door stepping out of her house, fell onto the porch

That does make our falls very similar. Perhaps you had a turn involved in yours, as you were coming through a door? I fell straight down since I had almost finished coming down the stairs.
I'm not sure - just the fluke of the fall, glad yours was not as bad
