Made it to Cy's without much ado. I am now in possession of 10 yards… - Melodramatic, corsetted mistress of the obscure
Made it to Cy's without much ado. I am now in possession of 10 yards of the most GORGEOUS forest green dupioni silk. Now I have to nerve myself to actually cut this wonderful stuff. :O
Getting home from Cy's involved a number of missed and mistaken turns. :p I really don't like that part of town. Really.

I like to, you know, make sure I have enough. And I plan to make a full-skirted, floor-length dress out of it, so that's takes some yardage. Yeah, it was kind of dear. Not quite $20-a-yard dear, but close.

As I was reading, I got this image of you umm...sensuously rolling in the folds of the fabric while in a near ecstatic state...sorry, being a fabricholic myself sometimes I get carried away with the possiblities.

Oh, you wouldn't have been too far wrong! The idea certainly occurred to me (or, at least, a variation thereof).

But, you know: body oils. :p So I restrained myself.
Yes. I've never had a problem getting to Crown Center, but it's always a challenge home. It's fairly easy to go East, North or South, but not West.
What I usually do is go north on Grand to Truman, and then East on Truman until I get to a place (The Paseo?) to get on I-70 west.

I noticed that. :p Damn the designers. I gave up trying to go west and headed south on 35, to hook up with K-10 - an option you really don't have.
That was actually what I would have suggested for you though I don't remember what street to take to get to 35. I know if I made my way to Rainbow Blvd or Southwest Trafficway I could get on 35, but I don't have a clear idea of how to get to either of those without going all the way down to Westport.

I ended up by the convention center, missed the turn the first time (because the signs were RIGHT by the turn AND behind stuff) and had to go around a block to turn around and try again.
mmmm silk! 45" wide or did you find something wider? Will you have any scraps left over?
|Date:||April 25th, 2006 05:15 pm (UTC)|| |
I am pretty sure it's just 45" wide, if not narrower. I am sure to have scraps. I am just a sure to find uses for them ;) Corsets (without matching patterns) just don't take much fabric, especially underbusts.
mmm Fabric.. I know I did my huge spend last month on silks and things.......... drool

I'm terribly hurt
you didn't stop by, since you were in the neighborhood. I look forward to seeing the end result of the fabric orgy.
I'd have given you directions to get home . . . eventually.
