Squee moment
I was a touch slowed down on my way out of Lawrence this morning. Seems a mother raccoon and her six (!) babies wanted across the street. Mama got out of the street pretty quick, but the babies seemed to have some issues deciding which way to go. Once they all moved in the same direction, it was something else to see. I can only describe it as multiple fluid arcs in motion.

And they were damn cute, too.

I've seen a family of skunks crossing the street before. It looked like a strange amorphous mass (don't even know if that's a proper phrase or spelled right) of black with white highlights, I couldn't tell they were skunks until my headlights hit them directly. Needless to say, I gave them the right of way.

Awww. I've not seen baby raccons live, only the young and full adults. I bet it was a sight.
