My youngest brother was born in Australia, in an Australian hospital. Problems with 'nappies' or 'napkins' meaning 'diapers' rather than small-cloths-for-wiping-mouths-while-dining ('serviettes' in Australia, as I recall) aside, I was rather shocked when one of the 'sisters' (we call them nurses) in the neo-natal ward asked if she could give my newest brother 'a nurse'.
What the? She wants to breastfeed my brother?! No, she just wanted to hold him.
Ah, language.
