My dear fabric mavens:

What are my chances of bleachingfading fabric that is (if memory serves) 60% polyester/40% rayon?

The weight is right, the drape is right. The color is WAY too dark (darn it all).

Try soaking it in oxyclean first. I have some if you don't want to buy a whole container full. It aged some of my black tshirts rather well, and would be worth trying a sample.

Thanks for the heads up on Oxyclean. I will never never never use it on black clothing now.

Using it in a load of laundry doesn't do anything to it. I soaked the black tshirts in a very high concentration of the Oxyclean for a couple of hours trying to get some oil stains out.

Didn't work on the oil, but it sure did loosen the black dye in the fibers.

A little added to your laundry is fine, don't worry about it too much. Although I usually only use it in white loads anyway.

Thanks! It's all good to know. I use Dawn Dishwashing Liquid for grease stains.. or shampoo.

Goo Gone is also good, but I agree dishsoap works the best.

Should be no problem.
