Well, now! I just got an object lesson in just how much knitting tension (at least for me) is affected by which hand feeds the yarn. Wow. My grandmother gave me a pretty little doily she knitted, plus the (hand written!) pattern she used, for Christmas. I was giving it a try last night, starting by feeding with my left hand. Two sections later I changed to my right (thinking, "oh, yes, this is how I do it!"). Two more sections and I am staring at it is dismay. My left is very much looser than my right.

Now, I need to decide which of the two tensions I want to use for this. Left makes it lacy, right makes it dense (the pattern actually says it supposed to be a round dish cloth). It's pretty quick... maybe I will do both.

I didn't remember you knitted. You need to get on Ravelry. It's like crack. LJ-styled crack for knitters.

It took me five or six days to get my invite. It's so worth it. Star's on it, too!

Heh, with all of my experience with knitting and other crafts, I can never seem to get the tension right on larger projects. My attempts at following patterns for sweaters have been time consuming, and ill fitting. My theory is that as I get older I will have the patience to figure it out. Yeah, right :>

Um you knit????

Ok, I just loop it around my left fingers and add gradually. I am a notorious tight knitter in my group, but it works well for the socks that I do.
