Bleaching simply means that my so-dark-navy-it's-almost-black fabric how has a kind of ... purple cast. Kind of pretty, really, but so not what I was looking for.



The hunt for JUST the right bluish-grey in the right weight and drape of fabric continues....

maybe it would work better to find, right weight and drape in a blue that is too bright and then grey the blue with dye?

Perhaps, if the fabric I chose had a high enough natural fiber content. But, I don't actually own a washing machine - I use a quarter-eater that 'belongs' to the whole building.

arg, I wish I was still in the area, then I could sneak you into the textile lab on campus and dye it with you in all the wonderful space available.
