Changing the subject:
I can wax quite philosophical on long car trips by myself. It's about the only safe thing to do while driving, after all. On the way home from work last night, I contemplated something adammaker said to me quite some time ago that has really stuck with me. "One common factor in all my failed relationships... is me" While this is a universal truth (an aphorism, even?) I do believe the magnitude of the factor changes from person to person, from relationship to relationship. Sadly, the people for whom the magnitude of this factor is usually high, are the one's most likely to ignore it. And this generally requires them to lie to themselves about themselves and everyone around them.
