. Now, that little bit of white on her collar - is that lace (drawn in a minimalist style) or solid, if soft, fabric (likely gathered or pleated)?
I vote for lace, which would have been more likely than a pleated collar. Or that little gathered edge that Peter Pan collars have sometimes.
I've always thought it was a soft collar peeking out over the jacket, but not lace.
I have to concur - the bottom line of the white has a bit of wiggle to it, which suggests a fold in fabric to me.

I think it's lace.
i think its what ever will look best for the person who wears it. For you lace. (you wear lace really well) for others a sold as in eyelet trim. (ok not that solid, but you get the picture)

I think it's fabric. To me, it looks a lot like the underkimono of a kimono set peeking out.
but a kimono would never be that high on the neck all around... and to me that looks like a manderin collar.... or somethgin of the sort. (sorry no offense)

I totally agree about kimonos not having a high neck - I was just trying to think of an example where a thing under the main garment showed a little bit at the edge. :D
I'm thinking lace. perhaps an eyelet would work. kinda go with her personality.
Just based on Sophie's personality, I tend to side with the "fabric" camp. But maybe some soft, narrow, Venice lace that doesn't look too lacey?
