For all of this, I do NOT want his job.

My ex is a general manager of a cable company. Totally NOT something I ever thought to want to do.

HOWEVER, I am just a touch, I dunno... envious? wistful? because HBO is paying for him and his wife to go to Jamaica for a long weekend. For a 'manager's retreat'.

I'm lucky if I get a free lunch from Panera's.

I'm sometimes a little envious of my wealthier friends. There's one in particular that moved back to Kansas a few years back, cashed in some company stock and bought a $250,000 house straight up. No down payment, no bank loan ... he just bought it.

I try to remind myself that success isn't measured in dollars, but in happiness. When I look at the quality of my friendships, and my family, and the laughs I have on a regular basis I find my success. Still, it would be nice to have all that and a crapload of cash.
