What do you use to listen to them? And how do you keep your spot if you get somewhere in the middle of a chapter? I'd like to listen to audiobooks en route to work too, but I can't figure out a good way to "bookmark" my spot.

The books I download from Audible.com bookmark themselves, so they start up again where I leave off (well, sometimes things go wrong, but... that's electronics for you.) I listen to them on my Creative Zen, but any MP3 player is likely good. Apple Ipod, Sony Walkman, Sansa Clip. Creative, though, gives you a one-month subscription to Audible.com with the purchase of the MP3 player (pity that didn't work for me, as I was already a member.)
