Well, it finally happened - I have joined the ranks of the… - Melodramatic, corsetted mistress of the obscure
Well, it finally happened - I have joined the ranks of the unemployed.
On the one hand, I am unemployed and just re-upped my lease.
On the other hand, I don't have to work on that damned project anymore.
I think a whole new industry would be a very good idea. But today, I am just going to... relax, as much as I can.
Oh, honey. I don't know what to say. Here's hoping it winds up being the beginning of new and much better things for you.

Oh, man. I'm sorry.
A new industry actually sounds like a good plan. Wouldn't it be nice if you could make a living off of your costuming/seamstress skills?

I'm sorry. Call if you need distraction or books.
|Date:||August 4th, 2009 05:11 pm (UTC)|| |
Well, you didn't seem very happy there anyways. You'll find something better now!
Welcome to our ranks. :/ My sympathies.
Oh, I am so sorry! I feel your pain!
Jason and I were just talking about your job, actually. I was searching for jobs on career builder and found one that might match. Hmm, I can't find it now.
Odd, but there is one from Quintiles for a Clinical Research Contracts Manager. How that matches my skill set I have zero idea, lol.
Anyway, you have my total sympathy, and I suggest we do a decadent weekday lunch sometime! (well after Sept. 1 for me)
I'm so sorry! I hope something better comes along soon.

Big hugs and hang in there hon. You'll be fine, it's getting everyone these days :)

Oh no... *HUGS* Oh well.... On to something better.
Onward and upward.
Good Luck and have fun!
Unfortunately there's nothing at my current workplace that would be a good fit for you. :(
But OTOH your stress might...not disappear entirely, but dissipate a little bit.
I hope that this transition kicks off a shift to you finding a job that truly brings you joy and fulfillment.
oh, that tears it. I hope you can find a great new thing to do, and that unemployment will get you through the worst of the bills.
Much suck. Here's hoping for a speedy resolution to the situation.
The good part: you can search for a new job and use references from your old one. When you just want to leave because the job sucks, it is a little harder to use references that you want.
I hope they graced you with severance so you can have a tad bit of joyous relaxation.
Take a few days to relax, and enjoy some you time. Especially if you have some severance coming in. Take the time to take a good look at yourself (day-ummm!1!leventy!, oh sorry) and consider your options.
There'll be good and bad days, but you're better off free.
Nothing makes me feel like I am getting old, like acquiring something physical that I will have for the rest of my life.
Yikes. I'm so sorry.
Can I take you out for lunch sometime? After I'm over this nasty cough thing?
|Date:||August 5th, 2009 02:52 pm (UTC)|| |
I would adore that! Sure, anytime.
|Date:||August 5th, 2009 06:34 pm (UTC)|| |
Heh. Yesterday. ;)
|Date:||August 5th, 2009 05:43 pm (UTC)|| |
Sorry to hear that. Hope you find something soon. But hey, In the meantime enjoy your unemployment. It's kind of nice to have an extended break from working, even if you don't have the cash to do much.
If you've never been, check out the oddtodd.com
laid-off cartoons. And I'm good for a free lunch or dinner sometime too if you're interested.

I believe I would enjoy that.
Oh, so sorry to hear this news! It's a tough time but might be a good time for a change (for many reasons). Good luck in determining your next step.
welcome to the world of the job searching
It's hard to add to what's been said above. May you find what you seek, when you choose to seek it.
Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear this, geez.
On the other hand, yeah, you'll probably only miss the paychecks and stuff. And, y'know, unemployment insurance lasts an extra six months these days (he says, grasping for a ray of light).
Just phooey. Hugs.
sorry to hear about the job loss, but since it sounds like you weren't all that happy there I hope that it leads something much better.
... which by the way ...
if this is something you'd still be interested in, FDA has been hiring like a son of a gun, both for investigators (CSO) and lab folks. I think the hiring is still going on. Check things out at usajobs.gov to find out what vacancies are open.
As to changing industry, were you thinking "not pharmaceutical" or something other than chemistry? I see that some have mentioned about making a living off of costuming/seamstress. that would be an interesting change. Although would it still be fun if you had to make a living of it?
Much luck and good wishes on moving forward.

I was thinking of getting out of pharmaceutics. Although, moving to the FDA side of things might just be enough change. Who knows?
And, I agree, I don't think I would enjoy sewing if it was my job.
