Today I was in training for the next round of the US Census (that I am to be a part of, anyway) - checking up on the addresses reported as Vacant or Delete. It was scheduled for 9-5, but since this is the government and they pad all times, here I am, done and home by 2.
Now I wait for my Crew Leader (whomever s/he is) to call me and tell me where and when we are to meet. But that's for tomorrow.
Now, I was about a block from where I parked my car on my way to training when I realized I left my unbrella in the car. I did not go back for it. We all know what that means, right?
We all kind of waited a bit to see if the rain would stop (as you do... especially when you are getting paid to wait....) and left when it lessened a bit.
That was a trap - it rained harder as soon as I got around the corner.
I am sure you can all guess the next bit of inevitability: It wasn't raining anymore when I got home.
Looks like I will be knocking on doors again, but we don't have to get personal information from people (unless the NRFU Enumerator lied) since we are checking up on vacancies and deletions this time. On the other hand, we are going to be bugging people that have already been bugged a few times. Could be very 'interesting'.
