It wants to use WPA, but my DSi does NOT. So, WEP it is.
But...it's not working anymore. The router part works just fine - my desktops get internet. But it doesn't broadcast (or broadcasts intermittantly) for some reason.

Darn. How long since it quit working? I have to power cycle mine once a week.
Might also turn the security off and back on to see if it's bugged.

well, it worked when I first plugged it in here at my apartment last night. As of this morning... intermittant at best, non-existant most of the time.
I have power cycled it several times (some 30 second pauses, some 60. with the other comps plugged in and without. Nothing seems to make a difference.)
Ugh. Maybe I should get a new one and see what happens. But I don't know how my father changed it from it's factor settings to what it is now (has it's own IP address and changed from WPA with a set password to WEP with a password of my own making)

Hm usually they just do everything automatically with DHCP. it might need to be reflashed to defaults. Or a firmware update.
Or its just dying. They go for around $40 these days new.

If a firmware update won't fix it, I second getting a cheapo replacement. The DSi should work with WPA. Maybe the old router doen't support advanced configuration?

No, the DSi games only work with WEP - it says so, if you dig far enough. The DSi itself can download stuff with more advance protection, but not the games.
