Herm, I wonder if those pins would really work with my fine, slick hair. On the other hand, I LOVE using a stick or two to keep a bun in place - it always shocks me how well that actually works.
I think I will stick with bobbypins for this style, as I want the braids to lay flat to my head, so I used them all around the edges.

This hairstyle has all sorts of advantages over my usual choices. A high bun will hit the roof of my car, for instance, and there's the weight issue. A middle-high bun will interfere with the headrest on my car and have the weight issue. A low bun also interferes with the headrest. A braid (or even two) will start to fray out from moving over my shoulders and back as I move my head. A single braid will cause a lump behind my back when I sit in a chair or car.
This though, has none of those issues. I might just have to start using it regularly.
