"As seen on TV"
Last night I was flipping through channels when I should have been sleeping and found a quilting show that promised to show how to do 'perfect applique circles". I was intrigued, especially as I wasn't really sure how to do applique in the first place.

The show was a treasure trove of ideas, but the one I found most interesting and potentially useful was this: Before marking fabric, put it on some fine grit sandpaper. The sandpaper helps keep the fabric from slipping about and marking is both easier and more accurate.

I am here to tell you, it's the plain and simple truth. I might actually come to enjoy marking fabric, it's so much less frustrating. Well, not hate it quite so much, anyway.

Don't try it with sheers, it snags. Good for quilting cottons, though.

I didn't think it would work well with really fine fabrics.

What an awesome idea! I've been thinking about using applique more, so this is great timing!
