What year was it?
From 1987 to 1989 the only school in Exmouth, Western Australia. 1990 was Brunswick (Maine) High School.
What were your three favorite bands or musical artists?
Mister Mister, A-ha and Tears for Fears.
What was your favorite outfit?
In Australia it was a navy blue bubble skirt (I was pushing the uniform rules, but it was the right color and the right length and no one objected) for school and a very colorful circle skirt my mother made me that I wore to shreds. For tops it was either the pink or light blue cotton mesh shirts that went with the circle skirt. Oh, and jelly sandals.
What was up with your hair?
Long, straight, natural color. Permed by my last hear in Australia.
Who were your best friends?
Julia May in Australia (wonder what she's up to now... she was on a crash course when I saw her last. :( )
Where did you work?
Australia - the school library. Maine - the public library.
Did you take the bus?
Exmouth didn't need one (rather small) and we were just within the circle of 'far enough to bus' in Maine. That was a FREAKING long walk in heavy snow, let me tell you!
Who did you have a crush on?
I can think of crushes from middle school, but not from high school. How odd....
Did you fight with your parents?
No. I don't think I shall be as lucky with my son.
Did you smoke cigarettes?
Twice, both times with Julia. Did I mention I thought she was on a crash course?
Did you lug all of your books around in your backpack because you were too nervous to find your locker?
I can't for the life of me remember what I did in Australia, but I know I used my locker in Maine.
Did you have a 'clique'?
I had my circle of friends.
Did you have "The Max" like Zach Kelly and Slater?
Is that from "Saved by the Bell"? The names seem vaguely familiar that way, but I never really watched that.
Admit it, were you popular?
Nope, but I started becoming less unpopular as High School went on. Or maybe I just didn't give a shit anymore, and quit being a target.
Who did you want to be just like?
Well, me, really.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
Where did you think you'd be at the age you are now?
33? I don't think I ever thought that far out.
Did you have school lunches or bring sandwiches?
I was so sick of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches by then I tried my darnedest to avoid them. The canteen in Australia was rather nice. Because of it I was introduced to: Meat pies (don't ask WHAT meat or how much fat, just stuff yourself with them), sausage rolls (see meat pies) and chicken sandwiches. I should point out that these were bread, some spread and CHUNCKS of chicken. I loved them. Mother told me later the spread was... sheep fat. Hello? *shocked look* Can I have some more?! I miss all three.
