It worked! It worked! It worked!

And I REALLY like the effect.

I sewed the strip on, right sides together from the fold to the opposite side of the panel.

Again, with right sides together I sew from the folded edge to the other side of the panel and about half an inch beyond, so as to over lap the previous strip. I continued this pattern until all panels were covered (the final strip over hung the edge of the corset rather than being folded at the edge)

Although there are only two strips here, you get the idea, I am sure.

Here's a look at what the inside looks like after I have hand sown the inner edge down. I sewed up each join between the strips only on the back - the front edges are not sewn together.
